I am currently between jobs and can devote considerable time to Rover gig work until I have a more concrete schedule back to the jobs I am applying to. I have no pets myself at the moment so client pets will have undivided attention. However I can't do Friday nights or Saturdays without notice. They are family time and not preferred.

Safety, trust & environment

I'm comfortable with all kinds of animals. Whatever routines you have established for your pet I will follow. I will follow any guidelines provided by clients, pets are unique individuals and may require different things. For dogs I am willing to establish walking routines in the neighborhood and make special trips to parks in the area. I have the most experience with medium sized dogs, so I am used to walking up to 2km on afternoon walks, and willing to walk further for high energy dogs, shorter/slower for low energy dogs or seniors (Bentley liked going the same distance just had to take it slow). I have experience with crate training and would be willing to follow any routines owners would like me to continue with their pets. I may bring additional toys as enrichment but no extra treats without permission. I will respect my clients homes and be sure to leave the space as clean as when I arrived. I am happy to clean any messes pets may make. I am also willing to bathe them.

Information Voltaire O. would like to know about your pet

My baseline: - Sociability with people - Sociability with other animals - Training or Exercise Routine - Diet or Treat permissions - Medications or Special needs - Additional requests - Contact preference As the owners, you know your pet better than I will, so if there are any particular needs your furry friend has I will take them to heart. No request is too specific. I would like to know how social your pet is and how they interact with other pets in the home. I'd also like to know how they interact with people in general so I can be accurate with any strangers who may approach us during walking. If they have any medications I would administer them as directed. If there are any particular play activities I should do with your pet be sure to let me know. If you are working on training them, let me know what habits I will need to continue to practice. Also let me know if your pet has a specific diet and if they are okay with treats or not. And contact preference! How often would you like me to update you about your pet while I am with them? I will do my best to accommodate what works best for you and your pets.

A typical day

I will adjust walks to fit the dog's needs. I am most familiar with medium sized dogs and would walk roughly 2km for afternoon walk, and at least 1km for morning and afternoon walks. I like to vary the walking route if the dog seems comfortable with going to new places but can stick to a familiar route for dogs that prefer routine. For cats it varies but in general I will make sure their litterbox is clean and they are fed on schedule. More social and affectionate cats I will be sure to give them attention and play with them. Standoffish cats I will give their space and provide with toys they can play with independently. There is no rushing trust with animals so I will always follow their body language.

Kind pet walker or sitter!

Pet care experience

Long time animal lover, I've grown up caring for dogs and cats since I was ten. I've experienced caring for young and senior animals, with my family's boxer recently passing away at the age of 13. I meet animals where they are at, whether they need lots of exercise or need more space.

V. came to give our pitbull a walk for the first time. They were punctual and kind as we discussed the needs of our pitbull. My dog came home happy and tired- which is exactly what we wanted! Will be using them again.

I found myself in a tricky situation when I took in stray kitten Applejack. I was in the process of trying to rehome the cat, but over the weekend my dad was visiting from out of town and I needed someone else to look after her since he's allergic. Thankfully my roommate Ann pointed me in her sibling's direction! VV was able to look after Applejack on short notice and even provided extra toys I didn't have myself. They sent me cute and funny pictures of Applejack sleeping and playing. She really seemed to like the crinkle ball and towel VV put in her carrier after I took her back. It was a huge relief to know Applejack was in good hands while I got things sorted out for her forever home.
