My name is Vanessa, and I love animals with all my heart 😊 I have over 5 years of experience working with animals, including volunteering at shelters (AARCS) and farms (Kayben Farm), where I've had the pleasure of caring for a variety of animals such as dogs, cats, lizards, hamsters, rabbits, fish, horses, cows... you name it! I’ve completed a pet sitting and animal safety course to ensure I can better understand your pets behaviour and accommodate their needs. I have interacted with animals of all personality types including highly reactive, high energy, rescues, elderly dogs, puppies and socially anxious dogs and am experienced with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and breeds, and I’m more than capable of walking multiple dogs at once. I would love to arrange a meet and greet to see if I'm the right fit for your pet. I have plenty of references from previous and current dog walking and pet sitting jobs, so you can feel confident that your pets will be in great hands. Vanessa took care of our senior dog Karma on very short notice and sent us updates and pictures. I would definitely recommend her.
Vanessa took fantastic care of our cat over a one week period. This was our cat’s first experience staying at someone else’s house and Vanessa made her feel comfortable and was a great communicator, sending us regular updates and photos.
We had to book a last minute overnight stay due to family trip. Vanessa was fantastic with great communication. Answered all our questions and kept ups updated. Our Lilo was loved and you could tell because she still looked for Vanessa as we were picking her up! Would recommend!
Really appreciated the care and thoughtfulness that Vanessa put into taking care of Aed and finding the things that make him happy! She clearly knows her stuff, and managed to perfectly balance play, mental stimulation, and cuddles. He came home happy and tired out! She also handled a thunderstorm, which is one of his big fears, without any issues. He even got to try a brand new toy which he loves.

My schedule is flexible, currently I mainly doing pet sitting right now and trying to save up for school, with the freedom to create my own schedule. I am happy to accommodate your needs and schedule.

Safety, trust & environment
I truly care about every animal I look after and always follow any specific instructions carefully. When I’m pet sitting, I like to be close by, whether that’s hanging out in the same room or giving them some one-on-one attention to help them feel relaxed. For drop-ins, I make sure everything is safely locked up, and during walks, I stay alert and cautious around other dogs. I take pride in being reliable, gentle, and making sure every pet feels safe and loved.

A typical day
A typical day for me really depends on the needs of each pet I’m caring for. If the weather allows (up to -19 no colder), I love taking dogs out for walks to get some fresh air and exercise. Every animal is different, some need extra playtime, while others prefer cuddles and calm company. I also make sure their grooming needs are met depending on their breed and comfort level. Throughout the day, I like to keep pets mentally and emotionally stimulated with enrichment activities or interactive games, helping them stay happy, relaxed, and engaged.
