*N’hésitez pas à m’écrire en français ou en anglais Animal care is a lifelong passion of mine. We had family cats and dogs growing up, and volunteered as a family at our local rescue. I have continued volunteering into adulthood, with responsibilities ranging from basic care, to fostering (feral cats, litters of kittens, pregnant cats and neonatal kittens, puppies, dogs with severe reactivity, bite history, or training challenges, and everything in between!), to managing adoptions for a small rescue. I have also completed dog trainer training courses in basic obedience and tricks, and love building positive-reinforcement based training into my day-to-day with my lab, Murphy. I am competent and comfortable giving basic medications. I am experienced, affectionate, and ready to meet your pet where they're at to provide the care they deserve. Mel is super communicative and followed alot of instructions for a first walk - very telling of her great professionalism. My dog likes her and I'll be using her again in the future although she's moved further away. Thanks Mel ?
My cats were well taken care of and Mel sent updates and photos with each visit. One cat needed medication at specific times of day and Mel was reliably present at those times. Would recommend and/or book again.

Harmonogram
I am currently freelancing from home, so I’m extremely flexible and am available at any time during the day, weekdays and weekends. The only exception is a short volunteer shift that takes me out of the house from 10am to 2pm on Fridays.

I share my space with my partner (also an animal lover, though I will be handling caring for your pet) and our five year old lab, Murphy. Murphy is calm and well-socialized with both cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes. He knows cats well, and mostly just ignores them but is happy to share the couch or his bed. We typically go for three walks a day, plus a potty break before bed. On walks, I am confident and calm handling a leash with positive reinforcement, and let your pup take all the time they want to sniff and explore. I can walk your dog with Murphy or walk them separately according to your preference, and our schedule is flexible to meet your furry friend’s needs. Whether it’s an occasional walk or a longer stay in our home, there will always be an open dialogue between us so I can ensure your animal gets the best care I can provide.

I love getting to know the animals I look after and learning what they like to do to stay busy and have fun! Our neighbourhood is full of green spaces, and we often head to the park for some sniffing, training, or playtime. Let me know what your pet loves most and we’ll build that into our time together.
