I have space for a crate if requested for pet to be crated during certain parts of the day. I live right across the street from a park so they will get plenty of walks and playtime. My personal pets are only on high-quality freeze dry raw treats, they love it and so will your pets! I don't have any restrictions on furniture or beds but I can enforce it if requested.

Information Lois P. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog is reactive to cats, I can put my cat away during the stay. I can also administer any medications as needed as I have a special needs dog myself.

A typical day

A typical day would be going for a walk as soon as everybody gets up, then breakfast and some play time (doing tricks/snuffle mat/lick mat). Then some down time until the next walk (usually after 4-5 hours & the longest outside time). Play here and there until another walk (after 4-5 hours) with dinner time right after. Down time until final brief walk before bed and a big treat to finish the day.

While Lois and her roommate did provide our pup with a safe place to stay, there are a few things that could have been handled much better. Our pup came home a different pup. He frankly is not as excited or happy for play/attention/treats around the house. We believe this is because he did not have the proper structure to avoid anxious attachment, as he had too much freedom and affection and not enough rest and alone time. Our pup is young, and we truly feel this imbalance led him to become over attached and lack discipline. While we do thank her for taking care of him, it seemed like she not only let him have too much freedom and affection, but also took liberties without discussing with us (ie, when we first dropped him off she informed us the crate would be in one of two locations in the living room, only to later move the crate into her bedroom and thus make him sleep in the same room + she fed into his desire to take and chew up socks by…giving him socks). Worse, she did not inform us about it. It felt like things were being kept from us. We are sure he had a great time, but we think this shouldn’t be about giving him a vacation, it’s a paid job to make sure the dog is both happy, taken care of AND still a well behaved and regulated dog when he returns home. At the end of the day, it felt like her goal was to give him maximum excitement and happiness without the guard rails a young dog needs to learn how to be independent and reasonably happy.

Perfect choice for a pet sitter not only did she treat my dog Charlie like her own but was able yo adapt to his habits and size. He is a big and very strong dog but Lois had no issues. Also during the pick up day I had major flight delays which again wasn’t an issue for Lois and accommodated me. I was already inquiring about her schedule for future stays when I picked up Charles.

There is not better person to care for your pet than Lois. There have been many times when I left for vacation 1-3 weeks and Lois was taking care of my cat. She updates me as often as I want her to. My cat is always well fed and cared for. Sometimes I think my cat prefers her over me. She always takes the time to play with my cat since my cat is super energetic.

Lois has helped care for my Shiba (Kira) for years now and I couldn’t think of a better person for the role! Kira is often extremely energetic and playful. Lois just knows exactly how to match her energy and is Kira’s favorite hooman to play with. In addition to playtime, Lois is super loving and patient towards Kira. She is very present when spending time with Kira - whether it’s with giving pets, walking, or light training. Kira does not get as excited to see others like she does with Lois. Any dog parent would be truly blessed to have Lois look after their paw babies.
