Hi, I'm Ryn! I'm currently a graduate student with a lifelong love of animals, which is what led me to become actively involved with a local animal rescue. Through my work with rescue dogs, I was introduced to behavioral challenges starting with my first reactive dog. That experience motivated me to pursue further education so I could better support dogs with similar needs. I have several years of hands-on experience working with dogs of varying temperaments, energy levels, and behavioral backgrounds. To continue building my knowledge and skills, I am currently working toward my CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed) certification, with the goal of helping more dogs and their owners navigate training and behavior challenges in a supportive, ethical way. My training approach is calm, structured, and force-free. I focus on controlled exposure and distance management to gradually improve behavior, while encouraging dogs to shift their attention to me as their handler rather than fixating on environmental triggers. I use redirection and positive reinforcement to reward calm choices and tailor rewards to each dog (i.e. food, praise, or toys). For larger dogs, I use a double-leash setup to ensure safety for both the dog and myself, without relying on force or aversive handling. I strongly believe in force-free training as a means of building trust, confidence, and clear communication. I’m happy to help with a wide range of training needs, from puppy socialization and foundational skills to working with reactive dogs who require more structured support. My goal is to help dogs develop healthier coping skills over time through consistency, guidance, and positive experiences.
