Pet care experience

Your dog's home away from home!

My absolute greatest passion in life is working with dogs. Besides being an avid dog lover and animal lover in general, I feel that I have a genuine gift when caring for and working with our four legged friends. I have had quite extensive training with dog breeds, breed specific behaviors and traits, different play styles, body language, movements and mannerisms', vocalizations, and much more. I have had amazing results when working with and caring for especially anxious, timid, and uneasy dogs. Boarding and being away from home can be a trigger of anxiety for both humans and pets alike, and you can rest assured that your fur baby will be taken care of as if he or she were at home. I have over 6 years of job specific pet care and hands on extensive training as well as over 12 years of caring for and training my own pets. I have also spent the last 2 years working within the rescue world, securing and caring for abandoned and neglected dogs and fostering them while they are under rescue. I have worked as a kennel techinican at a dog boarding, daycare, and training facility. I previously worked at a doggy daycare and boarding facility in Ferndale, MI and I am forever thankful for the tools and vast knowledge that my coworkers and managers have provided me with. I took a lot of responsibility on in their newest addition; which was a playroom made especially for small dogs. When working there I was solely responsible for all of our boarders overall care, from meal preparation, medication administration, to boarding suite and kennel upkeep, group play time, overall health and wellbeing, and much more. I also had some exceptional results working in the main playroom with our larger breed dogs (and even our littles who insist they were another one of the big guys. ☺) When working with our larger dogs I was given the responsibility of caring for our youngsters, or puppies if you will, which as we know is a critical time, because this is when they are learning "how to be a dog." Behaviors and habits tend to stick with them throughout adulthood so a knowledgeable and patient caretaker and pack leader is necessary to set them up for success and give them the tools to become a thriving, happy, and well socialized adult. We thrived to be not only the best caretakers, but also assist the dogs in any behavioral issues or growing pains they may have; therefore, I was trained to recognize said issues and create and implement behavioral plans to set them up for success as well. Whether it be helping to cultivate your pups current skills and assisting with training tips, or simply giving top notch love and affection to your pets, I'm who I hope will be your "go to girl." I understand dogs on a deeper level than most, and out of the hundreds i have had the pleasure of working with, I have yet to meet one that has not become my buddy ☺ Traveling and finding sitters can be stressful enough, so let me help you take some of that stress away. You'll surely feel a sense of comfort knowing that your dog is in loving, caring, and knowledgeable hands!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kelly exceeded every expectation we had for Princess Lola’s stay. As first time Rover users and the owners of a French Bulldog with special medical needs, leaving her for an extended trip was not easy. Kelly immediately put our minds at ease. From our very first meet and greet, it was clear she genuinely loves and understands dogs. Throughout Lola’s stay, she sent thoughtful updates, photos, and videos that showed not just what Lola was doing, but how comfortable, happy, and engaged she was. Watching Lola make new friends, play, cuddle, and settle into Kelly’s home gave us incredible peace of mind while we were thousands of miles away in Alaska. Kelly treated Princess Lola like family. She was attentive to her routine, mindful of her medical needs, and communicated proactively throughout our trip. It was obvious Lola wasn’t simply being watched. She was genuinely cared for, loved, and made to feel at home. What truly set Kelly apart was how she consistently went above and beyond. When we picked Lola up, everything was packed, organized, and ready to go. She had thoughtfully washed all of Lola’s belongings, including her food bowls, raised feeder, slow feeder insert, and other dishes. She even separated Lola’s remaining food into a separate bag, making everything easy for us to take home. It was such a thoughtful touch and speaks volumes about the level of care and attention she puts into every stay. We came home to a happy, healthy, relaxed little girl, and that’s the greatest compliment we can give. Kelly earned our complete trust, and we will absolutely book with her again. If you’re looking for someone who is kind, attentive, communicative, organized, and truly passionate about caring for your pet as if they were her own, we recommend Kelly without hesitation. Thank you again, Kelly, for taking such wonderful care of our Princess Lola. We are incredibly grateful and feel so fortunate to have found you. ❤️🐾

Bernie loves to stay with Kelly, he's usually depressed for a few days when he comes home because he has such a good time with her. She always answers promptly and has helped us watch him a few times now with short notice. Bernie is a senior overweight golden retriever who does not get around well these days and who requires medication administration and Kelly has been fantastic to work with!

Kelly was absolutely amazing with Onyx! She sent me updates every day along with pictures and videos, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. It was obvious that Onyx was well cared for, loved, and treated like family. The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. I will definitely be booking with Kelly again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my girl!

Kelly took great care of our dog, Bo! It was our first time boarding him, so we were a little nervous but she made the whole experience easy and stress free. She kept us updated with messages and pictures and it was clear that Bo was happy and well cared for, and we couldn't have asked for a better first boarding experience. We will definitely be booking with Kelly again!

A typical day

I have a large fully fenced yard, great for play time. I truly enjoy being outdoors as often as possible and I am ALWAYS up for a game of fetch, frisbee, or even simply running around the back yard. I also enjoy applying things that I have learned throughout my years of pet care experience whenever possible, such as: basic leash manners and leash walking, basic training and obedience, which would include cues and commands such as: sits/stays/off/leave-it/down stays or lay down Some great indoor activities would include puzzle games and toys..which help excercise the mind as well as exerting your dog's energy when unable to do physical excercises.

I love and am more than happy to provide care to dogs of ANY breed, size, or age. Before sitting a dog there are a few bits of useful information such as: 1.Has your dog been boarded/sitted for previously? 2. Age 3.Temperment- - -Has he or she ever had any issues or instances where they have shown aggression either towards other dogs and animals or towards humans 4.Does he or she have any special needs or accommodations- - -For instance, are they on any medications? Do they need more frequent potty breaks? Do they need extra excercise? ...and so on..
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
