Pet care experience

🐾 In Good Hands.

I raised my Pomchi from 8 weeks to 16 years. I have the patience to tend to the needs of your puppy, who is still learning, as well as your senior dog, who has their own unique special needs (including medication management). Over the years, I have met and bonded with dogs of different ages and breeds and I have shown them all love equally! I lost my boy in September 2024, a week after his 16th birthday, and I have a deep respect for the love and care that is expected from a “pet sitter. I’m here to give your furry friend the love and attention they deserve. I am a great communicator and can provide check ins regularly. Want photos?? Done!

Kayla did an excellent job keeping me informed about Luke's time with her. She also walked and fed him as scheduled. She even kept him brushed. Based on the pictures and videos, Luke seemed to really enjoy his time with Kayla. I would have no hesitation in using Kayla again.

We love having Kayla watch our senior kitty, Oberon for us when we're away. She takes excellent care of him and with each visit he's been letting his personality show a little bit more, so we know he likes and trusts her too!

Kayla was fantastic! Great communication before and during the pup’s stay, and took them out on multiple hikes! Couldn’t ask for anything more. The care was abundant and the pups came back very happy.

Schedule

I am currently working part time and would absolutely love the companionship of your furry family member to fill my days. I am building a routine for myself that includes more outside time and walking or playing with your dog(s) is the perfect encouragement for me to get outside and move my body. I work as a Crisis Counselor, which can take an emotional toll, and dogs can lower cortisol levels and release oxytocin, promoting a sense of calm. Additionally, dogs thrive on human interaction. This would be a mutual benefit and a good time. I love cats too!

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a studio apartment, ideal for cats and smaller dogs, but is accommodating to medium dogs as well. I have a common grassy area directly outside my front door as well as a safe park directly across the street (this is not a main street). There is not a lot of play area inside of my home, but there is plenty of room for cuddles and calm companionship. Tug of war friendly! We will definitely spend time watching my favorite TV shows. Of course, our activities together will be tailored based on your pet’s needs and routine.

A typical day

I love to sit and spend quality time with dogs in my care. I love to explore the neighborhood so dogs can get a sense of their surroundings and I love watching them smell all the new things (my dog used to love smelling new things—it was his favorite!). I love playing tug-of-war and giving treats when allowed. All in all, I love to provide companionship and human interaction, which dogs thrive on.

Please let me know ahead of time if your pet has any special needs that need to be accommodated. I can provide extra support and nurturing to puppies, seniors, special needs doggies (blind, deaf, healing after surgery, needs medication), and doggies who may need to be the only pet. I cannot accommodate pets with aggressive behavior toward humans other than their own or who are aggressive towards other pets. I can accommodate longer walks for high energy dogs. I have a small studio apartment, so I can accommodate multiple small dogs, but not medium or larger dogs. If you have a larger dog who is used to being indoors and may not be very mobile due to old age or something, that is perfectly okay. I am small myself, so I prefer not to walk fully able bodied larger dogs. I can absolutely visit and let larger dogs outside if you have a fenced yard. I would also love to bathe your furry family members! I offer $5 bathing for small dogs and $20 for other sizes. I only offer this service to dogs that allow for bathing without snipping or other fear-response behaviors. BYOS (Bring Your Own Shampoo)! Anything else, just ask!
