I am currently a high school teacher in the Cedar Valley. I work 7:30-3:30 but can care for your dogs right before/after any time. I am available for house sitting or stop ins any day of the week. With my schedule, I am very flexible to changes or last minute needs as well. I am open to short bookings to let your pups out or longer bookings to stay and play!

In owners’ homes I always make sure to take care of it as if it is my own. A clean and safe environment is always a priority that I ensure to keep when house sitting or stopping by to take care of dogs. I would not hesitate to help enforce house rules for the dogs and myself in regards to using furniture, going in certain rooms, mistreating items, or any other requests asked of me. I want to make sure your house is just the way it was, or better, when you return.

Before working with a dog, I request to know any touch sensitivities and triggers they might have. This helps me know how to best treat the dog before I meet them and make both of us feel most comfortable. Along with that, I also like to know anything that seems important to the owner! As owners, you know your dog best and I want to hear any information that you think it crucial for your dog’s best care.
A typical day
I love to use the trails around Cedar Falls to take the dogs on long walks or hikes if they are up for it! My favorite path goes along the river across from Main Street and it’s a great way for the dogs to get exercise and socialize. I also love to play with the dogs at home. I have taught dogs basic agility before which is a good way to get them some exercise at home and a lot of them really enjoy it. Of course, I always like to take a dog’s favorite toy and let them lead the playing in their own way too!

I have taken care of my own dogs for over 13 years and dog sat for 9 years. I am great at following directions and paying attention to detail, while also giving friendly and personal care. I not only like to make sure the dogs are well fed and walked but that they also get engaging playtime and petting to their liking! I have worked on basic training for 3 dogs and basic agility training for 1 dog. I also have experience working with senior dogs and dogs that have special care needs. Overall, I like to make sure that the owners (and dogs!) are always happy at the end of my work.

Jessica was a last minute request. We’d never met her before but needed a sitter in a pinch. She was great! Left our home in same condition that we left it in, and responded very quickly whenever I reached out for updates. I would recommend her for house sitting, she took good care of our 2 dogs and cat.
