In fact, my very first dog care responsibility came at the age of six, when neighbors entrusted me with walking their very well-behaved Great Dane. That early experience shaped my lifelong passion for caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of working with dogs from various backgrounds, tailoring my approach to meet their individual needs. One of my most fulfilling experiences was with Haley, a rescue dog who joined my life in 2005. She came with significant challenges—aggression, unpredictability, and fear from what was likely an abusive past. With patience, calm consistency, and a firm yet loving approach, I transformed Haley into a confident, balanced companion who eventually enjoyed incredible off-leash freedom and trust. For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of extensively dog-sitting throughout Europe. These opportunities have allowed me to care for a wide range of dogs, from energetic puppies to senior companions, each with their unique quirks and needs. I couldn’t even express how delighted I was with Elise’s care. Rosie is an old girl with an injury and I was so worried about leaving her. But Elise made sure she got her meds, wore her brace and sent me photos so I could see her daily. I would recommend her to anyone. She will be my go to dog sitter from here on out.
My spouse and I have known Elise for many years as a realtor in the community where we last lived in the US. We were lucky that Elise happened to be in Europe when we needed to return to the States to take care of some necessary business in 2021. Elise's thoroughness, professionalism, and attention to detail had always stood out to us, and we were thrilled when Elise agreed to step in as housesitter for our flat in Spain, where squatting laws make a hiring a housesitter an essential factor for any extended absence. Thanks to Elise, we were able to focus on our tasks back in the States without worrying about the flat in Spain. Elise updated us on the flat at our requested frequency, took deliveries, and maintained the flat in perfect condition. Upon our return, we noticed how how clean and well kept the flat was. I have known Elise for over 20 years. My husband and I would like to give our full recommendation and praise to Elise for helping us take care of our adorable 1.5-year-old yellow lab, Sadie. Sadie is a very energetic puppy and has trouble with jumping, barking, and other expected puppy behaviors. Since the moment Elise stepped into our house to meet Sadie, Sadie has shown such a drastic improvement in her high energy behavior. Elise helped us understand how to work with Sadie one on one to help improve this behavior. She also worked with Sadie on leash training and gave us wonderful suggestions. We currently have three small children and Sadie does not always receive the attention that she deserves. Elise has helped immensely with this. When Elise worked with Sadie it was evident that she has a clear knowledge of how to train, care for, and love all animals. Elise is an exceptional care taker and trainer because she is reliable, efficient, and devoted to her work. She has set expectations that Sadie understood through her consistent verbiage and actions. We cannot thank Elise enough for her determination, love, and affection towards Sadie.
Elise is a meticulous, thoughtful and trustworthy house and petsitter. She takes amazing care of our place and is mindful of special household requests that need taken care of while we are away. Her love of animals provides an amazing amount of reassurance that our furry baby is well taken care of and given as much love, if not more, than if we had stayed home.
Elise is definitely that rare pet sitter and house sitter who you literally can leave town with a 100% peace of mind and know everything will be taken care of, and often taken care of better than you could do. No need to send texts while you are away to see how she is managing with home and pet. Extremely organized, timely, tidy and trustworthy. And sincerely joyful for opportunity to both help out the home/pet owners and make new pet friends..
We came up trumps when we chose Elise to be our house/pet sitter for six weeks. This wonderful lady not only cared for our apartment (she openly admits to being a little zealous about cleaning, so you’ll have no fear of arriving home to any sign of dust or dirt!) and our precious fur-baby, but enchants everyone she meets - neighbours, fellow dog walkers and people she just happens to happily engage in conversation with; she is undeniably an absolute diamond. Anyone who decides to engage her as a house/pet sitter will not be disappointed at all. Our elderly Border Terrier is not a morning dog and, once out, he can sniff for England and for hours - and she’s just followed his lead - literally! This, in turn, resulted in Bruno’s total trust in Elise, which is so important. Elise liaised with us almost on a daily basis, with photos of him enjoying the sun, paddling in the sea, making new friends, chilling and videos of him “nesting” in his bed. We have absolute faith in Elise. Her communication and care for everything precious to us is her priority. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Elise as a house/pet sitter for anyone; it’s all about mutual respect and great, clear communication.
