I work from home so my schedule is flexible. I live next to great walking routes and parks nearby the Richmond Walmart area. I prefer to dedicate my attention to one furry friend at a time with massages, enrichment games and dog toys.

Preferred to do a meet and greet at my neighborhood to ensure we're a good fit. Dogs must be potty trained. Also crate trained preferred if they are staying overnight. A typical day
I like to take dogs out to walk every 3-4 hours around various routes in my neighborhood. For about 15 to 30 mins each time depending on the age of the dog. If we're lucky we can take a gander inside Bosleys or Marshall's. Meal time can be hand fed, snuffle mat or with enrichment meal toys. Then we'll end the day with some cuddles and massage.

Over 8 years of experience of taking care of dogs. I've worked with a variety of dogs from a tiny Pomeranian to giant goofy Goldens. As an active volunteer trainer of service animals with a non-profit society, I will bring additional skills I'm sure will benefit your beloved friend. I rely on positive reinforcement to build strong bonds with my furry clients and will brave the elements to bring them to their favourite trees.

Derek went above and beyond for our sweet but anxious adult pup. He made sure all of his individual special needs were met, double checked if his medication had already been given, gave him lots of love and attention, and even pointed out a medical issue he noticed during his short stay. My dog had absolutely no issues settling with him and felt right at home. I received multiple pictures and videos throughout the day and felt that my pup was in the best of hands. Dropoff and pickup was easy and straightforward. I would recc’d anybody to Derek but especially those dogs that would thrive best in a single dog environment, as Derek only takes one dog at a time.
I left my dog (an Amstaff) with Derek for a week, and I couldn’t be more grateful! He took such great care of her — spending time together, going for walks, playing, and making sure she felt comfortable and safe the whole time. He also sent me regular updates and photos, which made me feel so much more at ease while I was away. Highly recommend Derek to anyone looking for a responsible and kind dog sitter. Derek is a rockstar pet sitter, he took care of our husky and not only gave her wonderful walks and care but also plenty of enrichment and cuddles! We've never had Whiskey run into someone's house like that when we dropped her off! One of the best experiences we've ever had, we couldn't recommend Derek enough :)
