Pet care experience

Private Golf Course walks, Rescue exp, Remote work

Hi, I’m David — a devoted dog lover and experienced sitter offering a safe, home-from-home environment for your furry friend. I work remotely, so your dog will enjoy constant company, care, and attention throughout the day. One of the unique aspects of our setup is direct access to a private golf course — our back garden opens onto it through a secure gate, making early evening walks peaceful, scenic, and a real treat for your dog. My love for dogs runs deep: both my mum and dad were guide dog trainers throughout my childhood. Growing up around puppies in training taught me the importance of calm, consistent care, and helped shape the way I connect with dogs of all temperaments. During the COVID lockdowns I fostered 9–10 rescue dogs, helping each one transition into a loving forever home. That experience strengthened my understanding of canine behavior and the value of patience, trust, and a gentle hand. I share my home with Duke, our own rescue dog and my 16 year old son. Only welcome vaccinated pets to ensure a safe and healthy space for all. I look forward to welcoming your dog into our calm, caring home!

Our Basset Hound Quill stayed with David for 8 days whilst we were away. David was fantastic! He met Quill before we went away so he could get to know him and Quill familiarised himself with the surroundings area. Whilst we were away, he sent daily updates (photos and videos) of Quill so we felt constantly at ease. Most importantly, Quill had a fantastic time! We will definitely use David again, I cannot recommend him more!

David took great care of Bella during her stay. He took into account that she is a nervous dog and gave her the space she needed to settle down. His set up for the dogs is fab with a safe fully enclosed garden. David is always quick to respond to any queries and gives daily updates and photos of the dogs. Can recommend David to board your dog without any reservations. Bella had a happy stay

Our boy Trevor had such a great time with David! We were quite anxious about choosing a daycare for Trevor, as he has never been away from our side, so we feel incredibly lucky to have found David. David not only took wonderful care of Trevor, but also gave us helpful advice on maintaining a healthy diet for him, especially as Trevor is quite a big boy! We’ll definitely be regulars at David’s daycare. It’s such a relief to know that we can leave Trevor somewhere safe, where he’ll have lots of fun, make plenty of friends, and be so well looked after. We couldn’t be happier! 😊

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work from my home office and often take my work outside to enjoy the sun when the weather’s nice. Being my own boss means I set my own schedule, so I’m able to structure my day around the needs of the dogs in my care. I frequently work with clients in the USA, which often shifts my workload to the evenings — freeing up even more time during the day for walks, play, and companionship.

Safety, trust & environment

Our fully fenced garden provides a secure space for play and exploration — with some sections recently upgraded for added peace of mind. We also have a spare crate available if needed, depending on your dog’s preferences or routine. Our friendly rescue dog, Duke, is a calm and sociable companion who helps new pets settle in. In fact, one of the reasons we started pet sitting was to give Duke and other dogs the chance to enjoy good company in a relaxed, home-based setting.

Pets

A typical day

Your pet’s day will be filled with love, fun, and plenty of tail wags! We start with a morning walk, either through our private golf course (just steps from the back gate) or a scenic stroll along the canal, only 12 minutes away. For more adventurous spirits, we’ll head out to the nearby farmland, just a 15-minute walk, for some open-air exploring and sniffing. Back at home, there’s no shortage of toys to keep your pet mentally and physically stimulated. We’ll play fetch, tug-of-war, or simply lounge together if they prefer some quiet cuddle time. Biscuits and treats are always on hand (with your permission, of course) to reward good behavior and keep tails wagging. Whether your pet loves adventure or prefers relaxation, I tailor each day to their personality and needs — making sure they feel safe, happy, and at home.

To provide the best care possible, I’d love to know a few things ahead of time: • Daily routine – Feeding times, walk schedule, and sleep habits • Personality – Are they shy, playful, energetic, or laid-back? • Triggers or fears – Loud noises, other dogs, certain environments? • Training & commands – What cues do they know and respond to? • Health needs – Medications, allergies, or anything I should watch for • Social preferences – How do they do around other pets or people? The more I know, the more I can make your dog feel right at home, safe, and happy.
