Safety, trust & environment

I follow instructions to the letter. What you need done, I will do. Walks, bedtimes, medications. You name it. Each animal has a different personality and needs. When you book with me, your pet becomes the center of my world. For house sitting, I don’t take other appointments during your reservation, so that your animals gets my undivided attention. I may need to leave the home from time to time for personal errands, but your pet is always at the top of my mind. Safety is a major consideration for me. I want to work with you to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible having me handle your pets. I am very serious about respecting the space and boundaries of others while I am visiting their homes.

Information Brandon S. would like to know about your pet

What is your dog’s stamina level? Do they like long walks, or short? Do I need to keep an eye on them for mischief? Is there anything (noise, task, specific personal quality) that triggers your dog? What commands does your dog know? Does your dog try to eat weird things on walks (we’ve all been there)?

A typical day

Eggy Boy is a big daytime sleeper. In the evening he likes to run around the yard and play with his green alien plush. He‘ll let you know where he wants to go on his walk, and will probably lead you home when he’s done. You don’t have to go his exact route. He’ll listen to “come here” and a bribe, though he might get insistent he will eventually follow.

Pet care experience

Taking care of animals is my passion. I am pet parent to two cats, Luna and Echo, and a dog, Edgar von Doom. I volunteer at the Oregon Humane Society, where I help socialize small animals and dogs so that they are ready to find the best forever homes possible. My passion for animal rescue work was sparked by my first dog, Abe. Abe was a stray Chihuahua from California who could sniff out people food from a mile away, but was severely lacking in social skills. I worked with a socialization trainer, and, together, we got him to a point where he enjoyed the company of other dogs and knew how to initiate play—unthinkable when we first adopted him. Eventually, he became the perfect babysitter. His patience and delicacy with children surprised us all. Seeing his progress was the most rewarding experience of my life. Edgar, also known as the Eggy Boi, was raised in a hoarder house. He could hop onto anything like a mountain goat, but had almost no experience with the outside world. We introduced him to this brave new world bit by bit. Over time, he has learned to love walks, go to the bathroom outside and, most importantly, bask in the attention of others. He loves making the rounds in our fenced yard to say hi to all the people and dogs that pass. I have been volunteering in the Small Animals department at the Oregon Humane Society since February 2023. I have accumulated over 100 hours, mostly with rabbits. I can now say I am a bonafide rabbit person, even though I don’t quite have the space to adopt… yet.

As always Brandon is a rockstar. It's incredible to be able to go out of town and not have to worry about pet care. I can't say enough about how he eases any anxiety about being away. And the kitties love him.
