Dog Behaviorist & Trainer
I moved to San Jose August of 2023 from San Diego, and a few months prior to moving I worked at a dog boarding & training facility that specialized in relationship-based training. The facility offered board and train programs and I would handle the pickups, dropoffs, behavioral assessments, playtimes, training and walking sessions, feedings, medications, and also assisted with the board and train programs. At that facility, I accumulated close to 100 hours of relationship-based training with many dogs of different breeds, backgrounds, and behaviors. I am experienced with basic obedience, recall, engagement, behaviors, socialization, impulse control/ counterconditioning, and walking(leash and harness)/loose leash walking (slip lead, and gentle leader)!!

Most importantly with walking dogs, I value the connection and I want to establish a good relationship with any dog I have the opportunity to work with. It is my priority to make sure that your dog(s) feels safe and loved along with having a developed mutual respect for both I and the dog. And second, I will never place any dog into an environment or situation that could be harmful for the it's psychical and mental well-being. Lastly, I believe communication is essential and I will always strive for strong and open communication to help any client feel trusting of their pet being in my care. And I will happily help talk through any troubles or concerns that are expressed!

Austin house-sit for me, caring for my dog and gecko in June 2024. I’ve typically only had family or friends house-sit so I was a little apprehensive, but after meeting Austin I felt immediately better. Austin was punctual and professional taking notes and asking thoughtful questions. My dog has certain conditions due to his age and eyesight, and Austin made it a priority to fully understand and ensure my dog was cared for appropriately. Austin was also incredible with communication. Daily updates with photos and he’d let me know when he was leaving and returning. I was able to feel at complete ease during my trip away knowing Austin was committed to the welfare of my pets and my house. Not to mention he was so careful with my dog. He truly knows how to connect with animals and make them feel comfortable as well. That was important to me. I truly appreciate Austin’s professionalism and kindness. He has a respect for others property/pets and displays great integrity. If you are hesitant at all, you can feel rest assured with Austin caring for your animals! Will definitely rebook!
Austin did a wonderful job taking care of our pets and home. It is always stressful leaving our precious pets and he put us at ease. He communicated regularly, along with pictures, and didn't mind when our dogs wanted to hog the bed at night with him:) In addition to taking care of our dogs and bunnies, he also went above and beyond with little things. I highly recommend using him for your pet and/or house-sitting needs. We will definitely be using his services again in the future. Thank you, Austin!

I’ve worked with Austin for a couple months at a dog board and train facility for a few months, however I’ve known him for years in high school. He is very down to earth and one of the most caring people I’ve ever met. He is determined to gain experience and learn as much as he can about dogs and their training!

Schedule
I work a part time job and I would love to utilize my free time to gain more experience/time with dogs of all different backgrounds! I believe that there is always something new to learn, so I want to expand my knowledge as much as possible in this field to develop my skills and understanding more as a dog behaviorist/trainer. Message me for my availability! Thurs-Sun I work part time. But outside of my hours and days I work, I would love to sit, walk, check on, or train your pup! Message me for my exact availability, as it changes weekly. I am happy to try and pencil someone in who needs services!
