Pet care experience

🐾The Furry Godmother 🐾

Hi! I'm Andrea, my business is known as The Furry Godmother, I am a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for pets. Ever since I was a child, I volunteered with animal rescues in my home country, and my dream was always to become a veterinarian. Those experiences gave me valuable knowledge and a deep passion for animal care that I carry with me every day. I have experience caring for dogs of all personalities, including anxious dogs, leash-reactive dogs, and pets that require medication. I also have experience with basic training and believe in using patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement to help every dog feel safe and comfortable. At home, I'm a proud pet mom to a German Shepherd, a Shih Tzu, and their six cat siblings—yes, I'm definitely the cat lady! Living with a multi-pet family has taught me how to understand different personalities, routines, and needs. As a fellow pet parent, I know how difficult it is to trust someone else with your furry family member. That's why I treat every pet as if they were my own. Their safety, happiness, and well-being always come first, and I'll go above and beyond to make sure they feel loved, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, exercise, medication, or simply a calm and caring companion, I'll make sure they receive the attention they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family! 🐾

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fully fenced backyard and two friendly dogs who love making new friends and can keep your pup company if they enjoy being around other dogs. I also have crates available, and if you prefer your dog to be crated for sleeping, feeding, or any other reason, I'll happily follow your routine. My home is full of love, attention, and fun activities. It's a great fit for dogs who are used to being part of the family, whether that means relaxing on the couch, snuggling in bed, playing with children, or simply enjoying lots of affection and companionship.

Pets

A typical day

Your pup will enjoy plenty of potty breaks throughout the day, starting around 6:00 a.m. and continuing until about 11:00 p.m. I provide two walks each day and only walk two to three dogs at a time, so every dog gets the attention they deserve. Our walks are usually around 4 km, but I'm happy to adjust the distance and pace to match your dog's age, energy level, and individual needs. For high-energy dogs, I also have a slatmill available to give them a safe outlet to run and burn off extra energy. If your dog is comfortable at off-leash dog parks and it's already part of their regular routine, I'd be happy to take them there with your permission. Mental enrichment is just as important as physical exercise, so I offer a variety of puzzle toys, enrichment games, and interactive activities throughout the day. As a German Shepherd owner, I understand how important it is to keep dogs mentally stimulated as well as physically active. I also make sure every dog has time to relax and nap during the day, since rest is an essential part of a happy, healthy routine. Please note: Your dog's safety always comes first. If the weather is too hot, too cold, or otherwise unsafe for outdoor walks, we'll skip our regular walks and instead enjoy plenty of indoor enrichment, including interactive games, puzzle toys, training exercises, and other mentally stimulating activities to keep them happy, engaged, and active.

Honest and open communication is very important to me. I know how hard it can be to trust someone else with your furry family member, and my goal is to provide the best care possible. To do that, we need to make sure we're a great fit and that I have everything I need to keep your dog safe, happy, and comfortable. Please let me know about: -Any medications, medical conditions, or special care needs. -Your dog's energy level, exercise routine, and daily schedule. -Any fears, anxieties, triggers, or behaviors I should know about. Although I have experience working with reactive dogs, I am not able to care for dogs with severe dominance aggression, resource guarding or possessive aggression, or dogs that are reactive toward large dogs. This is simply to ensure the safety and well-being of every dog in my care. If your dog isn't fully potty trained or is known to mark indoors when visiting new places, I kindly ask that you provide belly bands (for males) or pee pads so we can help prevent accidents. When dropping off your dog, please bring only the essentials: -Collar or harness and leash -Food with clear feeding instructions -Any medications they require Most importantly, tell me everything you can about your pup! I'd love to know their routine, where they like to sleep, how they eat, their favorite toys or activities, anything they're afraid of, and any little quirks that make them unique. No detail is too small! The more I know, the better I can make them feel at home and provide the loving, personalized care they deserve.
