answered a question Recommendations For New Sitters to Get Requests?

You have very good profile pictures that show some exciting things your dogs are doing. I can suggest editing your profile to be well thought out and concise. Yes I can agree with the testimonials, they can make a difference in encouraging other people to be confident in your services. I have noticed that you are offering drop ins and house sitting. From research and experience (in my area at least), these are some of the least popular options. You may need to invest in the upgraded background check to reassure potential clients that you can be trusted in their home. I’m not familiar with that area but in my opinion your prices are good to start. Have you tried advertising your services. I only advertise on Craigslist and I’ve received inquires from there. Your only 1 client away from getting inquiries regularly. Its normal for it to be slow in the beginning . When you do get inquries be the absolute nicest, courteous human being on planet earth. People love good customer service and first impressions starts from the profile then the first initial contact.

Happy Sitting! Hope my insight helped at least a bit.

answered a question Does anyone else have trouble picking their dog size preference?

I completely agree. I feel like rover should allow you to specify the weight limit instead of having a range. Me personally I am really comfortable with a 25lb dog but instead of me being able to specify that I have to choose the 16-40lb option. Yes, it does affect your score if you decline a stay request and it’s not fair because you can’t really choose the correct option. Rover is old enough to know that us sitters need a lot more options than provided and this score system needs some tweaking too!

answered a question I'm making a Rover profile for the first time as a sitter and I don't know what to upload as my profile picture. I don't have any dogs and I have a small apartment. What should my profile picture be?

Your profile picture should be a clear picture of you!

answered a question Can I still go to my day job when I'm dog sitting?

It’s really up to you! The main thing is letting the owner know what’s going on. Imagine the dog having extreme separation anxiety when your gone and come home to a ruined house. I have a full and part time job, Im a full time student and I drive Lyft a few hours a week. I make sure I let the the client know in the meet and greet as well as the first contact becuase I don’t want them to expect me to be home all day and night with their dog. I’m home the majority of the day and I’m never gone for more than a few hours, but still if the client is expecting one thing and you deliver another that’s a 1 Star review. I think it’ll be wise to have a job on top of rover to supplement your income it’s good side cash!

answered a question who pays damages to sitter's house

Yes you are liable for any damage made in your home.

answered a question How do I , prevent a dog from marking in the same spot in my house ?

It’s honestly nearly impossible unless you are able to clean the mess from the carpet, padding and floor board. Dogs can smell literally everything. So I have invested in a carpet cleaner to clean up my carpet. What I use is a enzyme cleaner from Rocco & Roxie it’s pretty good with removing stains and smells, but like I said before. If the Pee has went all the way to the floor board nothing will really work.

I have a BISSEL carpet cleaner and I use BISSEL cleaning solutions along with Angry Orange and Rocco & Roxie. I normally clean my carpets and sofas after every stay.

answered a question Best Practices for Apartment Boarding?

I usually do meet and greets at a park. I live in an upstairs apartment and I rather have the dogs get to know each other in a neutral area. I have a pretty regular apartment, nothing fancy at all. I keep things clean pretty much always. Sometimes there are things lingering around and may be a few dishes in the sink but generally it’s clean. When clients drop off their dogs sometimes they like to come inside, be regardless; if I am boarding a new dog I make sure everything is clean, dusted and sanatized.

answered a question Is it okay to give my actual phone number to the client?

It’s fine but I don’t see the purpose. If your phone number is connected to rover and you get texts alerts it’s really the same thing. Also, if anything ever happens or if it’s a dispute of some sort you would always have documentation of what was said and when.

answered a question Do you walk multiple dogs at a time?

No. Becuase I don’t really know how other clients are with dogs they do not know. I don’t even bring my dog along when I’m on walks. Not only that, some clients may not even want their dogs around other animals for whatever reason.

answered a question Anybody willing to foster my two pitbulls until I can get a new apartment?

Well you can always look for a sitter on Rover for an extended stay. I love pit bulls and they are extremely misunderstood. I think your best option is to board the dogs long term until you get yourself situated. Becuase if you take the dog to the pound you essentially giving your dog up.

answered a question Drop-In Starting Soon with No Confirmation--How do I handle this?

I agree, if the owner had not made a payment then you are not obligated to care for their pet. If she plans on paying you cash explain to her that she will not be covered under the Rover polices. Just because she is your neighbor does not mean you have to provide a service to her that you normally charge other people for.

commented answer Are these good responses to sitting inquiries?

I really like your first contact response. I’m going to edit mines a bit. Thanks for providing your I can use it as a guideline

commented answer Are these good responses to sitting inquiries?

I agree, my rates are low but only becuase I am new to Rover as a sitter. IDK why it says Los Angeles becuase I am in Hawthorne. Either way the price is still low yet kinda competitive in a 10 mile radius. Thanks for the suggestions for my CAN responses I also added the fees to my profile pictures

asked a question Are these good responses to sitting inquiries?

Hi! I have a cookie cutter prompt when responding to potential clients I was wonder if this is enough or if it could use some tweaking. Also I have had a few that would pick up late ( I work from home during the night) and not provide essentials for their dog. So this is a fee chart I came up with. Am I being lenient?
