Recommendations For New Sitters to Get Requests?

I'm new to Rover and have sent out promos through Craigslist, Facebook, and Twitter but I'm still not seeing requests coming in. I believe I have a pretty solid profile built and I know it may take a little while for them to roll in but wanted to reach out for some advice. Thanks!

Just set your prices really low and take the ‘loss’ for the first couple bookings. That’s what I’m doing. Until I have some reviews at least.

Take and pass the Rover 101 quiz and get the badge. You need to ask your friends and family to write testimonials for you as having zero reviews isn't good. https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/ar...

"Hello! My name is AJ and I'm available for long or short walks and in-home visits/stays (at my client's home, not my own), during both lunch and afternoon/night times!" yet you don't offer walks??

Go to your dashboard and update your calendar it shows its been 12 days since you last did.

Your service area is set too large it hurts you showing up in search results for the area you want to cover. I searched for house sitting and you didn't show up until page 10 because of all the items I listed above - time to get to work for you - best of luck

This is so weird. I've updated my calendar daily on my dashboard. Is there somewhere else to update it? I also have all services listed as available. I'll have to speak to Rover directly because I'm showing things completely different than what you must be seeing. Thank you so much for your help!

You have very good profile pictures that show some exciting things your dogs are doing. I can suggest editing your profile to be well thought out and concise. Yes I can agree with the testimonials, they can make a difference in encouraging other people to be confident in your services. I have noticed that you are offering drop ins and house sitting. From research and experience (in my area at least), these are some of the least popular options. You may need to invest in the upgraded background check to reassure potential clients that you can be trusted in their home. I’m not familiar with that area but in my opinion your prices are good to start. Have you tried advertising your services. I only advertise on Craigslist and I’ve received inquires from there. Your only 1 client away from getting inquiries regularly. Its normal for it to be slow in the beginning . When you do get inquries be the absolute nicest, courteous human being on planet earth. People love good customer service and first impressions starts from the profile then the first initial contact.

Happy Sitting! Hope my insight helped at least a bit.

Thank you so much Mary! This is a massive help :) I have since added some testimonials and just got approved for RoverGo so I'll be able to get things started soon. Thanks again!
