asked a question | Last-minute rate? Am I the only one who wishes she could set a last-minute sitting rate? Like maybe any request starting in less than 36 hours being set at a hire rate? I know I can always turn down a request, but I'm someone who doesn't like having last-minute changes to what my weekend is going to look like. But, if I were able to charge more, I'd probably be more inclined to say yes to a last-minute request. Does this make any sense? Am I alone in this? |

commented answer | What does Rover mean I can initiate requests? That makes sense! Thanks! It seems like that's a good work-around someone wanting to pay me off the app, too. |

asked a question | What does Rover mean I can initiate requests? I've just finished my 3rd house-sitting gig (3rd client), and I've been noticing that Rover sends me emails saying that now that I've been with this client once, I can initiate the request next time they go out of town. What does that mean/how does that work? I don't know when the clients will be out of town again! This seems illogical. |

commented answer | When/How Often Do You Increase Your Rates? Thanks for the advice! I went ahead and bumped my rate up to bring home $25/night after Rover fees (this is what I used to charge my old clients before joining Rover). I'll bump it up again in about a year, or sooner if I get a ton of great reviews. |

asked a question | When/How Often Do You Increase Your Rates? Hey all, I'm new to Rover, so I have my rates set relatively low. Not too low, just at the low spectrum of other sitters in my neighborhood. I set it low to attract new clients, and since I currently have 0 reviews on my profile. I'm wondering how often you all increase your rates... I'd love to eventually charge $15-$20 more per night (house sitting) than I currently am charging, which is the higher end of other sitters in my area. |
