commented answer | Profile Suggestions? When I edit my profile, it shows that I have 12 miles set? That's a pretty wide range in the KC area. Is there a different place I should be looking? Thanks! |
asked a question | Profile Suggestions? Hiya, Team -- We have been on Rover for about a month now, and have had a couple of bookings. We were wondering if some other sitters would please look at our profile and offer any feedback you may have? What seems to be a positive? Are there any weak spots? What else would you want to see when deciding? Thanks so much in advance. This community is a great resource! |
answered a question | Do sitters charge extra for adminstrating medicine (both oral and injection) to dogs that they host? We have had drop in clients who needed insulin and did not charge extra for the service. The pup was very used to it, obviously, and I considered it part of normal care of the client. If at the meet and greet it had been a big production or seemed like it would be beyond my comfort of a general client I would have kindly refused the job. |
commented answer | First time drop in and they want me to walk the dog? We do the same as Cari here. When multiple drop ins, we usually choose a mid day visit for a walk, if the owners want one. This leaves other times for playing in their own yard and plenty of poo/pee chances. Good question! |

answered a question | My dog gets excited to see clients during pickup, should I leave her out of the mix to avoid the chaos? We put our pups in a separate location during drop off and pick up. We find that owners often need a moment to leave any last minute directions or stay goodbye without dogs they don't really know interrupting. The same is true for reunification at the end of a stay. Everyone gets to say hello without extra dogs around. It works really well for us! |
asked a question | No score on house sitting? Hi, Rover Fam -- We have been on the site about a month now and we're completing our 4th job this weekend. It's been great! Question: We have a drop in score and a boarding score, but no house sitting score despite that fact that one of our previous jobs was in fact a house sitting service. Why might this happen? The client left a 5 star review, but my personal score still says N/A. Any help appreciated! |

asked a question | What happens if I don’t do all Rover Cards? Hiya! It’s Sunday morning, and we’re completing our first booking ever. Woohoo! It’s been a great experience. Here’s my question: Our clients needed 8 total visits so they booked 2 drop ins a day for Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun. They actually only need 1 on Sunday because I did 1 on Thurs and 3 on Fri/Sat. I get just sending pics and messages for the 3rd when there’s not another card to send, but what about the 1 visit left that Rover thinks I need to do? If I have a card left and don’t do it what happens? I don’t want to get negative feedback or lose out on $$. Do I have to log the visit even though I’m not really doing it? That doesn’t seem right, but I thought I read somewhere that if you don’t use all cards Rover processes a refund to clients? Help this newbie!! TIA |
