asked a question How much should I charge?

How much would you charge for a one month boarding? My extended stay rate is $30. I just would like to know what other sitters think. Thank you!

asked a question Do you usually charge them for one night trial?

Hello,

I've spoke to two different potential clients who mentioned they would like to schedule a 1 night trial with me before booking with me for the month. But I have never heard of this. Do you usually charge for the trial night or is it free? I would like to hear your insights.

Thank you!!

answered a question Please suggests a apartment friendly dog breed?

I would definitely recommend small dogs for apartments. I had my first client to be a husky and although he was a puppy (7 months old) he was pretty big. He didn't destroy my apartment or anything but he was just so energetic that I took him outside like 8 times. And I don't have a backyard so it was really hard for me to keep him occupied the whole day. He would just get so bored easily.

asked a question Did another dog sitter outside of your radius ever contact you to board their own dog?

Hello,

I just received a request from this girl in New York City stating things about her dog and that she would like for me to dog board him from September 9 through October 4th. I have told her nicely that I do not provide my services outside of my radius and that I apologize for the inconvenience. She insisted that she would drop off and pick up her dog from my home. I saw her profile and she has a photo of her and her dog and she has 7 5 star reviews. I was just wondering if this is too good to be true or does other sitters actually reach out to other dog sitters to board their own dog in a different state (I live in New Jersey). I'm just confused. I hope someone didn't hack into her account or something. I also want to make sure of my safety and home. If anyone could provide me their insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!

asked a question Has a client ever asked you to pick up their dog?

Hello, I just received a message on rover from a potential client who wants to book with me. He has asked me to give him a call so I called him through the Rover app. We spoke very very quickly (not even 10 minutes) and the only information I have of him is that he lives in Somerset NJ and says that I live too far and would like to know if I could pick up the dog and willing to pay me little more because his dog needs to go to a hospital later and then he said he will call me back later at 6:30PM and said thank you I really appreciate it. Bye! And we hung up. Do you think this may be a fishy situation?... I am little worried.

Maybe he doesn't want to use the vet emergency transportation because it is very expensive? I don't know.

What do you think about this situation? Thank you for reading and for the advice.

asked a question What does this mean when Rover Customer Support contacts you through message?

Hello,

I received message from someone who claims to be from Rover Customer Service Support trying to help someone find a dog sitter for them to have their dog picked up and house sit in their home. I did not share any personal information and I simply archived the message into I'm not available status and left it that way. Do you think this could be a possible way of scam as well? Or could it actually be someone from customer service? I reported it but no customer service responded back to it.

commented answer Was there ever an individual who contacted you outside of your service area? And asked for your cellphone number?

Thank you for the advice! I really appreciate it. Thank you.

commented answer What is a reasonable range for a meet and greet travel?

Thank you for your honest input. I just stopped responding to her and archived her. I hope it isn't a rude thing to do. But I just want to keep myself safe. But most of my clients were around my area (some out of town) but still came to my home to meet me and had no issues.

commented answer What is a reasonable range for a meet and greet travel?

She just normally contacted me via Rover asking if I am available to watch her dog. And then I said I am available for those dates. And it did show a photo of her and a dog together in black and white in her profile.
