I'm not happy at all and I absolutely love Rover. I do think the Stripe option is great but it should have been added as just that, an option. Paypal worked for me because I actually would leave a portion in my paypal to use for certain things. I've used them in the past for business and there are reasons why I stopped using them.
Stripe wants my SSN and permission to monitor my bank transactions and share that info with 3rd parties. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. After 4 years I will be forced to stop using rover. I implore ALL SITTERS READ STRIPE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. And now 7-10 days until $ is received? SMH.
I just completed a 5-day stay 2 days ago and honestly, right NOW I would have access to my money if I could still use Paypal. PayPal was an instantly available payment. My payment has been taken by Stripe and is not even showing as a pending transaction in my bank account. I babysit dogs because I need the money and making that process take longer is nothing short of ignorant. It would make a HUGE difference to me to have that money in my PayPal account today rather than in stripe limbo.
I'm already not liking the two-day wait to get paid so just going along with something that takes longer doesn't work for me. There should be a cap also on an extended stay with how much Rover takes out per dog for insurance. PayPal worked for me, payouts were instantly available, and there's no reason to not let people keep using that method.
I never put my info into Stripe and I am still getting payments straight to my bank account from Rover. I think that using Stripe is just an extra security measure but I am not sure....
Stripe is awful It takes forever to get the funds into my account! I need the money now not a week after a booking ends! It is horrible!
Still not paid after three months because of the change to Stripe. Rover is refusing to pay me.
Stripe and Rover have been withholding over $1,200 for 17 days!! I need my funds to be transferred to my account which I was forced to set up with Stripe 17 days ago! I can’t pay my bills nor feed my children! How is this ok?? I keep posting, emailing, calling for help and still no money!
I have not received a dime for 3 sittings this month. One client tipped me $50, not seeing that either. I have called and emailed multiple times and get told that something is wrong with your account, what is wrong?? Rover doesn’t know. I just keep.hearing wait 5 days and see if you get paid.
I had to deal with this last year, and they’re doing something again. I’ve been waiting for a week to get my money. They should have more than one payout option. PayPal was working, but stripe is really unreliable. There is no way to contact them except email. This seems really sus.
Well at least you are getting paid,I started doing work for Rover over Thanksgiving and they have not sent me an email to start stripe and Im not able to use the old systems,so I have no access to my money.I have contacted Rover 4 times about this and have not received an answer or ability to sign up for Stripe/but when I look at where I have written Rover emails it says Resolved on all of the communications I have made when in reality it is not resolved.
Registering with Stripe is not required until the end of January. I was paid for December jobs via Paypal without any problem. I am not sure why you think you have no access to your Rover balance, but I would call them instead of writing them. The phone number is [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Has anyone actually gotten paid since stripe started? I have 600 in my Rover balance and it's been a month. There are about 15 attempted payments that say canceled. I've talked to rover support and wellsfargo, triple checked my bank information and no one is taking responsibility.
I got it resolved, but here I am a year later having problems again. I can’t even take bookings, and I have hundreds of dollars in limbo. There is a ton of bad publicity against rover online. I bet it’s going to collapse soon. They’ve got to be trying to get around laws or something.
I tried to add my bank account through stripe and it didn't work. I guess stripe doesn't support my bank which is an online only bank called chime. So I'm not sure what to do now because I don't have another bank account. I was very happy with the PayPal option as well so this is really disappointing since now I don't know even how I'm going to get paid. If they don't support your bank then how are you supposed to get paid? Are they going to pay any fees associated with opening a bank account with another banking institution? I doubt it. This is super frustrating.
Mariana, If the bank has a routing number, then I would expect Stripe to be able to make deposits into it. I suggest calling Rover at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Mariana, I have Chime and added my account information without an issue.
Really? I tried it multiple times and each time it gave me an unable to add account error message. I ended up just using PayPal and that worked. PayPal gives you a routing and checking number so it can technically act like a bank account.
And it was working fine, taking the normal 2 days but now in the last few weeks all of my deposits are taking way longer for some unknown reason. Super frustrating.
Mariana P. Where did you find a PayPal account and routing number? I’m having issues getting payments through even though it had been working. Funds coming through PayPal is easiest for me.
I hate it! I am constantly forgetting about autopays or accidently spending too much money. I need to work on my budgeting, but for now, having the money waiting for me on Rover was always a godsend because it couldn't be touched from there unless I actively transferred it. I wish they would have kept PayPal as an option, and just added Stripe. So people could choose..

When I returned to Rover this year to start pet sitting again I noticed that PayPal option was gone!! I was sad. I think Stripe takes awhile for the payment to go through. It seems PayPal was alot faster in depositing the money.
Alright if you have money on Rover still. Well you will have to do something you do not want to do make a paypal. I know some do not prefer this.
I know my way with this stuff a bit, and thought of a good idea if you have $$ to cash out still.
Only if you did not click set up Stripe. I clicked it and can not go back to paypal and check. Do not click set up stripe before 1/31/22
If you have $ on Rover still Before it reaches 1/31/22 , make a paypal Cash out that way. I think also with online banks paypal works.
You can even request a check, even with an online bank. They have a routing number the online banks. Just takes some time searching for it.
If you already clicked it, well... Maybe contact support and say you want to use check or paypal before the to finish 31st for tax reasons you want it on one method for whichever year it is for.
This is the biggest mistake I've seen from Rover corporate yet. Killing the PayPal option is just stupid. There must be money being kicked back to key people in Rover corporate to get them to do this. I expect a number of sitters will jump ship because of this. I'm now looking for another service
Although there could be some financial incentive for rover to push All payments to Stripe, another possibility & my hunch is that Stripe is more aligned with electronically documenting all the money exchanged (focused on recipients, to ensure taxed accurately).
Has anyone had an issue getting payment from stripe to your bank ? It has failed several times. My banking info is correct, I asked Rover and they said contact my bank. I have Wells Fargo…but I don’t think they would stop an incoming payment ?
I’m really upset with this change. Please keep the PayPal option.
I also just found out it takes two weeks to get your payment. Why do you think we can wait this long? Two weeks after the job ends? This is really not ok. I need my money to be available when I get paid.
Also, I called stripe to see why it takes so long and was actually told by the company that Rover made a bad choice switching to stripe. I hope they read this and fix this situation. When a company’s own employees say to avoid it, that really means something.
Yea. It's already awful how little we make per hour... This was just another action that shows our voices don't matter.

If you have $ on Rover still Before it reaches 1/31/22 , make a paypal Cash out that way That seems to be the only option that pops up on payment options . You can even request a check, even with an online bank. They have a routing number the online banks.
I switched to Stripe and haven't gotten paid yet, even though my payment history for last two services marked as "fulfilled". I reached out to Rover's customer support via email and called them, but nothing. I have other bookings coming up, might cancel them since I don't know where my money is goin
I noticed that it will take 5 days to reach our bank account whereas it took 3 days with paypal. Why the additional time? I hope that someone from Rover addresses these questions.

Omg I’m so glad I came across this because I’ve been dealing with the same issue! It’s been past 3 days and my money is still not in my bank account. I contacted rover and they said that they don’t have my earnings because it’s been fulfilled but where is it if it still isnt in my bank account?
They’re very fast to take that 20% off our earnings but not very fast to give us what WE earned from the work WE put in. I’m thinking about getting off this app. We got bills to pay. I don’t need a company messing with my money.
I hate this Stripe option. It’s bad enough we had to wait 2 days AFTER we fulfilled our obligations, but now I’m being told 5-7 days to go into my bank. PayPal was 2 days like clockwork. So disappointed and upset about this change.
I agree! I hate the change! Why should we have to wait even longer for money we worked for!! Two days is long enough. With PayPal my money was deposited right after midnight on the 2nd day and now still waiting! For the alleged “70%” of people that voted for this. Let them have it, I don’t want it!
I'm upset. PayPal was working fine. Now I got paid on the third day, another recent booking is giving me five days, when with PP I was used to getting paid on the second day.
Add me to the list of people having payout issues. I have not been paid through Stripe processing once. I'm owed for five bookings and close to 1K
