answered a question Policy on Booking When Client is Communicating Poorly?

I understand things can happen, however I also understand my time is valuable. Owners can reschedule meet and greets ONCE. Any other rescheduling requests will be charged a drop-in rate for continuing to waste my time. I don’t do the whole waiting around for them to respond thing. Pick a time and it should be honored. You’re a business, not a best friend waiting to hang out.

answered a question Do you repeatedly pick up keys from same customers without being paid for your time?

I require a key to be given at the meet and greet or left for me to pick up upon my arrival to start the service (whether that be lock box, under the mat, given by the owner before they leave, etc). If they want me to make an extra trip to come back to pick up the key or drop off, it is an extra $5 each trip.

The only exception I make to this is when I need to pick up an apartment complex fob.

answered a question Do you receive a Rover Reel for walks?

Pictures that are sent with the Rover Card do not generate a Rover Reel. Only pictures sent through as separate messages do. You can send the photos through the messaging system and the Rover Card so that a Rover Reel is generated, but that seems a little redundant.

answered a question Anyone seen this type of client response?

On iPhones, you can double tap and “heart” a message. Just like if you were to like a post on Instagram. It only works if you have iMessage though so if you don’t (like with rover’s text system) it’ll send that message.

answered a question Deductible expenses?

If you use TurboTax to file your taxes, they offer a really nice HUGE list of deductions related to the pet care industry. But like others have said, it is always best to consult a professional when it comes to preparing taxes.

answered a question Floating around the FB Rover Groups - changes clients see when we archive?????????????

As long as the reason why that we pick when archiving isn’t shown, I don’t see why this would be a problem. Before archiving you should have already told the owner that you’re declining.

answered a question What is the average cost for 3 dogs on a drop in visit?

The rate will highly depend on your area, but I’ll share my rate breakdown:

$17 drop-in for one dog + 2x$5 additional dog fee = $27 per 30 minute drop-in.

There may be an additional fee of $5 to extend to an hour (bringing the total to $32) depending on how much pee/poop there is to clean up. And an additional $5 if they’re under 1 year of age.

answered a question What is a Treat?

It’s kind of like karma if you use Reddit.

answered a question Will a first time user of the site get the discount from my promo code if they don't book with me?

Yes! If they book with you, they get the $20 off and you get your full rate aka Rover covers the $20. If they go will someone else, they still get the $20 off and you get $10 for bringing them to the service! I say it’s win-win either way.
