Is it ok to buy a toy for the dog you're watching?

Should you ask the owner first? Is it appropriate to buy a dog your sitting for a bone?

I always keep some cheaper toys around the house. For example, on Black Friday there were great deals and I bought a pack of 10 toys for $5 or something crazy. I do this because it will keep the pup busy, and also from chewing through my dogs favorite toys. Just be sure to always supervise the pup

I also don't send the pup home with it. I have a basket of visiting dog toys.

First and foremost I would ask the dogs owner if it's okay. If it is, go from there about what toys they're okay with. For example many people aren't okay with rawhides. To go off of what Katie said, from there you can decide if you'll keep the toy for future visitors or send it home with them.
