Why is there no auto Holiday rate for dog walking?

My profile only allows for Holiday charge on drop ins and boarding. Also doggie daycare has no option for holiday rate.

I would recommend submitting this to Rover Support as a suggestion/enhancement. I agree with you that all services should have holiday rates, simply because we are working when most people are off for a holiday. Most kennels I know of in my area charge more for holiday times as well, and I don't see that any of the services we offer on Rover should be any different.

To get the answer, I'd suggest asking Rover Support. My hunch is that sitters may offer regular rates to regular walking and daycare customers and if they're not regular customers, just prepare the custom quote then (if not already booked by regulars during peak time).

Makes sense what you are saying, but to me, I am still available to clients during Holiday times and it should still be an extra charge. If I wanted to adjust for a particular customer and put it at the standard rate again, I could do that, but it looks bad when you have to increase it.

Yeah, I'd guess that it's because of how the services are used. Boarding/travel sitting options are more seasonal and sporadic, while walking tends to be more of a regular need. The requests for walking specifically may be far more uniform during the year (and in some instances may drop off during vacation periods when families are home during the day more).

Even with new walking requests during the holidays, there is no automatic charge for the Holiday times. Still think it should be the same across the board.
