Do you do drop off or pick up for your clients?

A client asked if I do drop off and pick up. I feel like I would if it was a repeat customer and they assured me the dog did not get car sick. Also, I would want to add to the price of the stay, so it would reimburse me for gas. Do you guys do this, or have any experience with this concept?

Yep, I do it for a small fee. I've also done it for free when it made scheduling easier for me, like when I could easily swing by on my way home from work rather than wait up a couple hours for the clients to be able to drop off on their way to the airport (I work night shift, so I go to bed right when I get home). I kinda like it because it minimizes the excitement at drop off/pick up time, where all the dogs can get a little wound up. Everything is much more mellow if the family says their hellos and goodbyes at home.

I just did a pick up for a non-Rover client last week. I was unable to care for her dog during the first 24 hours she needed, so a friend did it for me and I picked up from their house.
With everything else I've got going on in my life, a transportation service probably wouldn't be something I'd like to do.
One positive I could see would be the ability to maintain your schedule. My clients are usually really good about showing up when they said they were going to, but I do occasionally have one that comes late. Not a huge issue, but it can quickly get out of control (or so I've heard from others). Unlike a regular boarding facility, we don't have standard "work" hours, and we aren't sitting around all day waiting on our clients. We are living our lives, and set aside time out of that for drop off/pick up. Anyway...if you did transport, a drop off at 9:00 could actually be a drop off at 9:00. If you want to do it, I would look at the details of Rover's insurance. Transporting client's animals in your car is a whole other level of liability. I know a local professional sitter that added an extra insurance element once they started transporting.

I have done it many times, usually for regular frequent guests, limited by within a ten mile radius. For these significant accounts, it's just an extra customer service convenience for them that I don't charge for and they truly appreciate, but it's a win/win for the client and me, as it also allows me more schedule flexibility & convenience than setting aside time for pick-up/drop-off. Occasionally, there are other reasons - such as owner is getting home much later than planned and it would be even later (much too late for pick-up) when they'd arrive at my home,... or I'm nearby their home doing other walks and/or errands and it's easier to bring their dog than rush home and try to get there before they do to meet them. Some of these more occasional situations I've charged the fee for, it depends on the situation. However, I also offer dog walks and sitting at the owner's home within ten miles, which I do not request mileage reimbursement for - it's just the cost of providing that business service.

I don't offer the drop/pick up transportation. I don't want to do all that traveling. Plus, I don't want to be separating all my dogs while I am out to pick up drop off. I limit to 5 dogs - includes my dogs. I still end up with 6 to 7 due to over laps. I am pretty flexible about my repeat customers dropping/picking up a little early or late. However, I do have a vacation only customer drop a night early, not respond to my emails with pictures and request to "pay" for the day early drop. They contacted me the night before they were to pick up to extend another day. They said they were having to much fun to be bothered. They paid for the last extra day. I was considering dropping them when they contacted me about 6 weeks later for a 3 day weekend. I informed them I raised my rates a total of $5.00 for their 2 sweet pups. (I do Love hosting their pups!) They booked and gave me a great review.

Pickup and dropoff is a service I offer for a fee. However, I will only provide it during certain hours. In your list of services, not only can you specify the cost of the service but the distance you will travel. Clients pay for the service at the time the booking is made.
