Hi Gayle,
Payment is made to Rover at the time services are booked (this could be weeks or even months in advance), and Rover releases funds to the sitter 48 hours after the stay is completed. This ensures the funds are available before the stay begins, but allows time after the stay ends to resolve any issues between the sitter and client or make any adjustments to the stay that would affect the payment amount.
Depending on the sitter's refund policy, anywhere from half to the full amount of the stay can be refunded prior to the start of the stay. If cancellation occurs at least a week prior to the stay's start date, the full amount will always be refunded to you if your plans change.
