Getting requests and turning them into bookings (and then getting 5 star reviews) is the best way to rise in the rankings. Essentially you need a better ratio of requests:bookings than others in your area and a higher average star rating. Adding badges will also help, but there are only so many you can reasonably get.

Having better availability, a bigger service area, and accepting more sizes/ages of dogs will give you a bit of an advantage over others in your area since you will help you show up in more customer searches, and of course being priced competitively and having a complete, well-written profile with great pictures will make you more appealing to potential customers.

It looks like you just started out pretty recently and already have good reviews. If your business keeps growing like it has, you should continue to rise in the rankings, though the top spots in most areas do seem pretty fluid. Really, showing up consistently on the first page of results for your service area is pretty fantastic, especially early in your career.

I dropped in the ranking. I have lots of badges, great reviews, average rate range and repeat customers. I seem to be booked when someone new requests my service. Since I limit to 4 dogs (not including our dog) I don't have room for anyone else. I think that knocked me down quite a bit.
