Why is the puppy rate listed first and the adult dog as an additional?

When a new client requested my services, the rates came up with the puppy first and the other dog (adult) as an additional dog. That way I'm losing money. It should be 1. adult and 1. puppy. Why is it backwards?

I'm not sure if Rover assigns the rates based on which dog they've added to their profile first or not, but I don't follow your logic. Yes, you'd get more money if you charged the adult dog at your normal rate and the puppy at the puppy rate, but if you were asked to sit two adult dogs, one would be charged at the normal rate and the other at the additional dog rate, so the owner would get a discount. The situation is the same here: the first dog is charged at your normal, higher rate (the puppy rate), while the second is given the discounted additional dog rate. The owners still get a multiple dog discount, and you still get compensated for the additional time and energy it takes to watch puppy.

I think Laura did a pretty great job of explaining. Worse case scenario just manually alter the price before confirming.
