My sitter canceled. When will I be refunded?

I had a sitter cancel on me for a personal emergency. I've already paid. When will I be refunded?

Thanks! Judy

Judy I was charged even though a dog walker declined a meet and greet and I was not refunded. What’s the deal?

You are normally fully refunded after 3 -4 business days and should see that back on your credit card. Best of luck in finding a new sitter!

As a sitter, from my experience talking with Rover support when the client cancels, they refund the amount in 2-3 business days. However, Rover would not have paid the sitter until after the stay... so if you can find another sitter through Rover, maybe the payment can be applied toward booking the new stay. May I suggest you contact Rover support directly at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] or through the online form https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/re....

To piggyback on what Deb said, yes, Rover can help you find a new sitter, and they will even pay the difference between the rate you had agreed upon with your previous sitter and the rate charged by the new sitter. I have been that second sitter, and Rover Support referred the client to me after her regular sitter had a family emergency. She was not charged any more, and I was still paid at my full rate. All she had to do was meet with me and contact Rover to have the payment applied to the new stay.
