Anyone participate in the Rover Donation program?

Anyone participate in the Rover Donation program? Besides the obvious, do you find an added benefit from participating? Do you feel the badge helps attract future clients? I noticed that it is not a tax write off going through Rover. What group have you selected? I am thinking of going with Angels Among Us.

I donate 10% to Freedom Service Dogs of America.

From the website: "Freedom Service Dogs is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by rescuing dogs and custom training them for individual client needs. Clients include children, veterans and active duty soldiers, and other adults. Their disabilities include Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord Injuries, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)."

This organization's mission hits close to home because my own daughter is diabetic and some dogs can be trained to sense impending seizures or insulin reactions.

I don't know if it attracts any clients, but that's not why I did it. Rover is not my primary source of income, and my belief is that it is important to help as many others as I can, in any way that I am able. If nothing else, it should help in the karma department. :-)

I donate 10%, split between the Oregon Humane Society the Humane Society of the US. That way my money goes locally to help dogs directly where I live, and to an organization that helps direct policy regarding animal rights and welfare nationwide. I don't know if it attracts a lot of clients (though I do highlight it in my profile and nearly all of the dogs I sit for are rescues). Mostly it gives me an opportunity to donate to causes that are important to me when I probably wouldn't otherwise, which is worth it even if it doesn't do a lot for my business.
