In order to continue improving the experience for our customers, we implemented a small fee when booking services that is calculated and displayed at checkout. These fees allow us to continue to enhance the Rover benefits you know and love, and also help us build out new features so you and your pets can keep getting the 5-star service you deserve.
Currently, most pet parents already pay this fee, but you are a part of a small number of pet parents who joined Rover prior to us implementing service fees. Starting May 18, 2023, this 11% Rover service fee will be applied to any new booking request you make. A new booking request is created once you submit a service request to a sitter and it is currently pending. This means any active conversations you have with a sitter(s) about a possible upcoming booking(s) won’t be affected. In addition to any new booking requests made before May 18, any confirmed bookings and on-going recurring bookings will also not be impacted by this service fee change.

This service fee is calculated at checkout and is only charged if the request is accepted by your sitter. This fee cannot exceed $50 USD per booking and is fully refundable should the booking be canceled by either the sitter or by you, in accordance with your sitter’s cancellation policy.

To avoid paying rover 11% more need to either confirm new booking requests before May 18 or set up on-going recurring bookings (to avoid paying this 11% service fee). Might be worth booking summer& holiday stays and walks in advance.
