Why is the quoted rate higher than the daily rate?

I received a note to book with one sitter that I interviewed today. Her quoted rate is $32/day. The length of stay is 7 days. That should be $224 but the rover site says I can book it for $239.68. What is the difference for? Taxes?? Other??

Do you have a holiday rate set up? If the dates fall during a Holiday, I believe they charge the Holiday rate for the whole stay or part of the stay.

There is a 5% fee for clients new to Rover in some cities, though that would make it $235.2, so I am still unsure of the amount you are being quoted, but perhaps it is related? https://www.rover.com/community/quest...

That's a very odd amount. As far as I know, Rover doesn't add tax onto your total. First I would ask your sitter and, then, call Rover Support at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]. Just for your information, if that stay includes a holiday, then a sitter's rated may be higher than what you first see. Click on the "additional rates" button on the profile page to see all that adjustments and other services a sitter may offer.

That's exactly 7% higher. Which seems to follow the Rover service fee of 5-7% for new account holders. (https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/ar...)

If it makes you feel any better the sitter is also charged 15-20% of their rate by Rover.
