Teacher, Can Only Work In Summer?

I'm a teacher and will only be able to work in the summers. Will my account be suspended due to inactivity during the months I can't work? Will I be able to resume work the following summer if so?

You would be an independent contractor and would establish the terms under which you market your services, including availability, on Rover. You just mark yourself as "Away," whenever you do not want to pet sit.

As a teacher who can only work during the summer, your account will not be suspended due to inactivity during the months you can't work. You can simply mark yourself as unavailable during the times you are unable to work and then make yourself available again when you are able to work. You will be able to resume work the following summer with no issues.

In fact, many sitters have similar availability and only work during certain times of the year. It's important to communicate your availability clearly in your profile so that potential clients are aware of your availability and can plan accordingly. You can also consider setting up recurring services with clients who need care during the summer months, as this can help you secure repeat business.

It's worth noting that the algorithm used by Rover favors sitters who update their availability periodically, even if they only work during specific times. So, it's a good idea to log in and update your availability regularly to maintain visibility on the platform. Additionally, keeping your profile updated with recent photos and reviews can also help to attract new clients during your available time.
