What to do with multiple pending requests for the same date?

Hello! I have commonly had two or more requests come up for the same dates. I only accept one client at a time so I am not able to accept more than one dog when there is overlap. Because I do a meet and greet for all new boarding dogs, other requests will come in while the first one is still pending. My question is how do I go about archiving the dogs I cannot accept? I have archived the extra dog using "I was not available" but it knocks me down a lot in performance score and search rankings. It seems unfair to be knocked down when I had my preferences at only accepts one client at a time. Should I mark myself unavailable until the meet and greet? Or archive using another answer choice.

Hi! I answer every request and archive as "owner didn't respond" that way it doesn't affect my calendar. You can keep communicating with the customer if they do answer from archived and you will see the notification. If it get's booked it moves to "up coming booking's". Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for sharing this helpful tip! Archiving requests as "owner didn't respond" is a great idea to keep your calendar organized and ensure that you can continue communicating with the customer even if the request is archived. I will definitely implement this in my workflow.

We are very similar with our bookings. We only take one family at a time. When we have a request come in for a time-frame with a pending meet and greet, we let the family know that if the other family doesn't work out, we would be happy to move forward with their request with an M&G of their own. Typically, I don't archive the request until the other stay is booked. Perhaps that may help with the search rankings? I wouldn't block the calendar just in case the initial request falls through, then you are missing out on other potential bookings. But I definitely feel your frustration with Rover with those bookings. Usually it says something like, this request doesn't fit your criteria, but thought you'd like to take a look.
