Is it better to book first then schedule a meet? Or meet first then book?

I'm wondering if it's better to book first and then schedule a meet and greet. I tried to schedule a meet and greet first but by the time I messaged the person they had already booked someone and scheduled their meet and greet for a later date than I had even suggested.

It’s best practice to Always have meet&greet before booking. The purpose of a meet & greet is to determine if it’s a mutual match and if all details are agreed-upon, then book. If you book it first, you’re making a financial commitment, which may be difficult to undo because Rover will ping your payment method immediately and you may have to wait for them to reverse/credit or apply to another sitter.

If the person isn’t available for the meet and greet when needed, then they’re not the right match.

Potential clients (usually the ones who never used Rover before) tend to send a request to multiple people. Which means A LOT of people. So it happens frequently they book with the first person who messages back first.

I would advise that you always do a meet and greet first if you are looking to host a dog you have never met before.
