One of my good friends earns 40-50K in Woodbridge VA. I only offer walks so 20K is my average over the past 7 years. Be careful with boarding as it's illegal in Fairfax VA and you could be fined if someone turns you in.

My daughter has had great success and high earnings with a combination of walks, visits, and house sitting (cats & dogs). Her rates are appropriate and she gives excellent care to each pet! She has 80+ reieat clients and nearly 200 posituve reviews in 1.5 years. And yes, she can walk 6 dogs in 4 hours, one at a time, without shorting their time. How? By being wise about distance between each, making a good schedule, and asking her clients of they're flexible on start time. Therefore, she can see one noon-12:30 then book next one at 12:30 but arrive at 12:45, done at 1:15, next visit at 1:30, and so on. She groups her clients by location and tries to keep next within 15 minute drive. As for house sitting, unless a client is paying for 24/7 care, there is no requirement to be with that pet every moment. You make the house sitting dog your 'home base' and of course you can leave and walk other dogs. As long as you are providing all the proper care (feeding, letting out or walking regularly) required for pet being sat, what is the issue? She tells every client she will be in and out and of course in for the night at some point. Most people do NOT expect someone to actually SIT with their pets 24/7, more than they themselves are home! Again, in a special circumstance, someone may want nonstop care, but that is above and beyond regular house sitting and would be perfectly acceptable to charge a higher rate.

If you go to Read Our Blog, rover published stories titled Meet the sitter, some who may be top earners.

I found the link that was published by a different website : https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/15/rover-a…

You might notice that the article glosses over the facts that she walks 5-8 dogs in a 4 hour period on weekdays (so she's either bundling them together or they're getting less than 30 minutes each), while also booking house sitting for 20-25 days of the month so during those times she's not with the house sitting dogs, and takes on 15-20 pets during holiday times!!!
