Service area?

I am new to Rover because I am needing to find someone to walk my dog. I entered my information and then a map comes up with many potential candidates. I've looked for those that live nearest where I live. There are a couple of service providers whose location dots are within 1 mile of my home and when I go to their page and see the service area, they look like they cover a good 5-10 miles. When I go to "Contact" and I'm entering my needs, I see that despite their location being supposedly within a mile, it shows that I cannot contact them because I am outside their service area. What?!?!? I'm supposedly inside of a mile but too far away? Do they only provide service to people that live on their own street? Their own house? Why even put up for service if you can't go more than a half-mile or mile from your house?

I suggest you call Rover Customer Support at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] to figure out what seems to be the problem.

Also, FYI, you can manipulate the map to zoom in on your area to find the closest walkers. Don't just go by what Rover shows you in their first search screen. Drill down to the area you want, instead of getting all those people from further away.
