Depending on the sitter's cancellation policy, you may receive a full or partial refund. Refunds will be issued back to the original form of payment within 5 -10 business days from the date you or the sitter canceled the request.

Note: Refunds may take longer depending on your bank's processing times.

Call Rover and ask them when to expect your money if you used a rover service. I am not sure how the sitter accepted your booking when they don't accept large dogs and you told them you have large dogs. Good luck.

Point of clarification: If you booked&paid through rover, rover (who is in possession of funds) will refund based on cancellation policy.

( as opposed to if you went off the platform & actually gave money to a sitter directly )

I would only hire sitters who have same-day cancellation policy because there’s too many that can make money off of people canceling jobs. You can always see their cancellation policy directly on their page. If it says anything other than same day or one day, then I wouldn’t personally higher than because, I’m not sure what kind of job you get that you’re able to get paid for not working and I understand that it can become a pattern and people get frustrated but I’ve only had people cancel one time so I just have same day policy

FYI: The cancellation policy is Not for sitters to make $. Most sitters want booked services to happen. If a sitter limits how many dogs they book, much like a hotel limits how many rooms they book, and then people cancel, it helps compensate that they may Not be able to later book those dates.
