How to modify times after d/o 7 p/u?

I know how to modify times before a booking. I do have several clients who book one time frame and then show up outside of it. I know if they say "ill be there at 2 for drop off" when they choose 5-6 drop, I can modify THAT. But its mostly pick up I am worried about modifying. I won't know until pick up day if they decide to be late. I hope this makes sense. It is just frustrating because many clients know they get charged the extended care, so I have realized they book on rover where they are within the 2 hour window, but message me changing times. I also don't want to see rude constantly changing/modifying the time when I do get a slight heads up that it'll be different. I noticed on pick up day, I usually am not notified by the owner for a later pick up, until its too late and I can't modify the booking. I even had a client change his pick up window once he realized the extended care was charge, then still messaged me asking if he could come later (so extended care should be charged) and I felt backed into a corner.

Another question similar: can I get more money than what my day care is set at if a dog stays for a long period of time? I had a dog from about 8a-9p and I feel that isn't very fair. In other words, is there an extended stay rate for daycare?

Starting with last question: 13 hour day care, based on times mentioned, is completely taking advantage! If you cannot extend on rover, use the “cost adjustment” field to enter the additional amount ( ideally this is discussed in advance and done when you set up the booking )

As for the clients that you suspect our booking based on preventing the automatic time extension, that may be best that were face-to-face. With a friendly smile, you can tell those clients you’re able to accommodate changing time of drop off or pick up when necessary, but need to process and have them approve the booking adjustments. If you’re not comfortable having that conversation or most of your clients are booking that way, the other option to handle it is to simply raise your rates ( in anticipation that those services are going to require overages of time).

When I looked at your rates and saw drop in visit was $22, it was surprising to see day care only $3 more at $25. Currently, there’s only $15 difference between your daycare and overnight. Since you offer boarding for $40, it may be simplest to think about how much you value booking specific dog for 13 hour daycare versus overnight. If it’s worth $5 or $10, you might increase daycare to $30 or $35. Then you’d feel better about it. Keep in mind that you can lock in rates for specific clients (such as a locking in current rate for a regular 8-9 hour daycare client if you choose) and then raise rates, which apply for everyone else. Or you could tell this 13 hour client(s) that for simplicity sake you’ll book their dog as overnight stay because their dog’s stay extends beyond the normal definition of daycare.
