How do you handle a nervous cat in your own home with other cats?

Hi sitters,

I'm watching a cat in my home that has 2 other cats. My resident cats get along great and generally love or ignore other cats. They have stayed at pet sitters homes with multiple cats with no issue. The cat I am watching is a solo cat and is quite scared to be here (understandably). I only have her for a week but I feel bad having to shut her in her own room as I have been doing to keep her comfortable. More because I can give her more attention if she could roam than splitting my time between her and my residents.

Today I gave co-mingling a shot and everything went fine all day until visiting cat decided she overextended how comfortable she was right before bed and ran back to the safe room. This triggered my other cat to chase after her which made her even more upset and they got in a little spat.

After no injuries were found on either cat I'm wondering how to proceed from here. I only have her for a week so I can't really go through the motions of slow introduction. Right now my plan is to let her have the day to herself tomorrow in her safe room and do a reset on everything later. Would feliway be helpful?

Tl;dr: looking for advice on how you handle cat sitting in your own home for a nervous cat that doesn't like resident cats.

All cats that I watch have a separate room dedicated to them. In my home, this is the den. No other cats or dogs are allowed there. This allows the boarded cat to feel safer. I spent time with the boarder through the day working and snuggling to make him feel safe and loved. This seems to work very well.
