Should I say something to owners about surprise home construction during dog sit?

I interviewed back in July to sit for two wonderful dogs. I told the owners that I work from home which is great so that I can be there for the dogs 24/7. They loved it and even mentioned areas around the house that I could set up shop. Well the day that I am going over to sit the owner casually mentions that the construction guys just need to finish the bottom two steps of the deck and to be careful with the dogs. What she didn't mention is that they are actually building another room onto the deck and from 7am to 7pm I have had to endure pounding, drilling and sawing while trying to do my job. I feel that they should have mentioned this during our interview and feel like they tricked me by not saying anything. I love the dogs but I would have turned this job down had I known there would be construction going on. I definitely feel I have not been paid enough for this sit and I feel completely disrespected by these people. I want to say something to them but what?

ps. I looked at the plans/permit papers and they planned this back in June so they did know about it when they interviewed me.

Both parties need to ask all foreseeable relevant questions during the meet and greet. Since you work from home and they mentioned areas where you could set up shop, you need to ask probing questions, about their entire home, especially regarding if anyone else will be coming/going (such as landscapers, house cleaners, etc,) If you see an unfinished deck, ask about it. At this point, you could nicely let them know that the construction noise is interfering with your work and try to find a workable solution. Approach it from the standpoint of — As much as you like their dogs, If you had known about the planned construction, you would’ve had to make other arrangements during your work hours or decline the job (Not from the angle that you feel disrespected).

One possibility might be there you go elsewhere to work during the day and use breaks to walk the dogs. Another possibility might be that some of the construction work can be done offsite, with the finished pieces being brought to the house to be installed.
