Dog daycare extended hours?

Hi, I have a dog daycare request that starts at 7:30am and they can’t pick her up until 9:30-10pm. Rover just uses my dog daycare rate but this seems extended. I have done 10 hours before at the same rate and don’t mind but this is almost 14 and the dog is a puppy who requires more attention. Do people charge more when this happens? I also feel bad because it already added $5 for a holiday rate but I just feel like requesting those times is quite a lot more than a daycare is expected. Any advice would be great!

Before you book it, use the cost adjustment field to add in what you figure is a fair prorated additional amount. This usually is easiest explained during the meet & greet, but you certainly can explain in the comments field: that your daycare is for up to xx number of hours (sounds like that’s up to 10 hrs) and after that you charge $x. Some sitters will break it down hourly, and some sitters will just charge a flat fee (sometimes that’s 10-12hrs=$x extra and after 12 hours the boarding overnight rate applies).

I’m surprised that rover doesn’t automatically apply an extended rate to daycare similar to the more recent automatic extension rates for boarding. However it was a long wait until they rolled that out. For years, sitters have been having these conversations with clients and manually adjusting bookings.

BTW: don’t feel bad! this is a Puppy over the Holiday and I’d anticipate it’ll be a lot of work.

Since I can't see your Rover profile and/or rate table, I suggest that you include in your profile the hours for daycare (i.e., between x and y) and after that then overtime charges will be applied. If you offer boarding, then I would use that rate instead of your daycare one.
