Why such a waste of time?

I've wasted I don't know how much time jumping through all of the hoops and contacting potential dog walkers. I got one rejection with no explanation (despite being "available" that day), one non-response, and one who said yes, and then cancelled one hour before the meet-and-greet. How ridiculous. Meanwhile Rover is bombarding me with all kinds of emails I don't need. What a terrible, frustrating experience. The app is annoying and obtrusive, and the sitter-walkers are unreliable and uncommunicative. I've had it. This isn't a service, it's vaporware.

My potential sitter didn't show up for my meet and greet today. She messaged over an hour later and said "sorry. Personal issues. raincheck?". Uh, no thanks. I want someone RELIABLE taking care of my pets! Ugh

That is SO ridiculous!! I am sorry you had this bull happen. As a sitter I respond ASAP, clearly. I am never late to meet & greets or on days of sitting. People are just so lacking in work ethics. It really is disgusting. I promise sitters and walkers are out there like me.

I’m actually looking for the same answers. I messaged 3 dog walkers, 2 never responded. If you cannot even respond with, “I’m sorry, I’m busy,” why are you listed as available???

Would you please consider contacting rover directly at tel:[Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] to tell them what you experienced?

Rover is the only one that can address these issues, (not sitters/walkers & clients interacting in this Q&A forum). There should be consequences.

@deb Rover has the ability to track failed or unfulfilled requests and follow up -- if they care to. I'm not going to spend any more of my time doing their work for them. All I get from Rover is emails urging me to book and pay, which they've done ever since I signed up. Their priorities are clear.

Understood. Valid & Fair.

It's summer, people are busy, schedules change last minute, and life happens. I personally archive mass requests sent to numerous sitters immediately, without responding. When a client sends a mass request, without a direct message, some sitters don't want to deal with it. I only respond to messages that were sent to me directly, explaining what they are looking for.
