Owner name listed as J Doe?

Hi all! I am fairly new to Rover. I have an upcoming booking and I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not. It will be for a 3-week stay (booking has been confirmed, etc) and the owners are traveling out of the country. We did a meet and greet and it went great. But when I look at the Rover itinerary, the owner's name is listed as J Doe. Obviously not their real name. Should I be concerned? At the meet and greet pup Mom introduced herself with her first name, but didn't start with a J. Any help would be appreciated!

That's really pathetic that an owner would register like that. You could contact Rover Customer Support to see if they have used it before. But I would advise you to create a dog info sheet that owners fill out, which asks for lots more information than you receive on Rover's itinerary. It would have their name, address, phone number, emergency contact info (unless that person gets listed as J. Schmo), veterinarian name and number and whatever else you want. I've never had a client refuse to fill it out. I give it to them at the M&G and they bring it back to me when then drop off their dog for the first time. I do remind them the day before drop-off as to what to bring with, including the info sheet.

Oh yes, I also require that the dog must have I.D. tags, which should have the owner's real phone number at a minimum.

In addition to the answer provided, I would highly suggest that you book a service (1 overnight or at least daycare) before three weeks stay, mainly for the dog & your benefit.. If it’s a not a good match, 3 weeks might be unbearable.
