How come listed prices are not what the sitters extend in booking?

I am seeing that a sitter will be listed at $45 a day, or $50 a day for boarding and when a booking offer is extended, the price per day is $15 to $20 higher per day? It is kind of putting me off from using the website to book a sitter... Why is there 25-30% increase from the listing to the booking offer?

Do you have more than one pet? The list price is for 1 pet. So the additional cost could be for additional pets.

Are you booking for a holiday period? If so, then there are different, higher rates which you can see on their rate table. If that is not the case, then you should ask the sitter or Rover to explain them to you.

Potential reasons:

-You have more than one pet

-You have a puppy

-You are booking a holiday

-Rover fees which are not controlled by sitters
