What To Do When Out Of Town Owners Are Unsatisfied With Service?

I have done overnight care for this family before. They were very kind, and did not have any issues last stay. Our agreement is that I watch the two dogs overnight and can come and go freely. I am with the dogs all day, but I leave in the evenings for a few hours to go to my home. This stay the family is out of town and they have installed cameras. They get mad when I leave the house and claim I am neglecting the dogs. Even though I sent an outline of my schedule prior to the stay and we agreed upon a come and go throughout the day and stay overnight. I take the dogs on multiple walks a day, we play with toys, and they get their breakfast and dinner on time. I feel very uncomfortable because they text me when I leave the house and say I am neglecting the dogs. What is the best way to handle this situation?

If I had to structure a house sitting like that where I would come and go for hours at a time, I would summarize that outline you’ve provided to owner in the rover messages. Then rover can reference it and it’s easier to discuss with them if you contact them for advice/or the owner disputes the care given.

I would also refer the owner back to this document and confirm that they received it. May have to ask questions to find out what is the issue since they agreed to your outline.

I don't believe she is currently a Rover sitter anymore.

Wow - that posted less than 1 day ago!

When I checked, her posting looked like a sitter's, with "Book a Stay" but when I clicked I only saw her pet's names. I wanted to know what her house sitting rates were in order to evaluate whether 24/7 care could be anyone's expectation.
