it took me within a the next 2 days with getting a booking, it depends on your prices sometimes. i had my prices for boarding at 25 a night.

Winters in Canada are long, cold, and snowy. Covid is prevalent and many are working from home; this has a big impact on folks looking for pet care. Hang tough getting the first clients can be tough. 6 years ago when I started on Rover it took 3 months until my first booking, but then it took off. Best of luck to you.

Contact from interested pet parents can take weeks and even months, depending on need. During the past couple years, with more people taking care of their pets while staying at home, there’s been much reduced demand for services. I’d encourage you to market yourself in as many ways and places as you can, rather than relying solely on rover.

From a quick look at your profile, it appears you only offer dog walking and drop in visits (rover’s most requested service is boarding). From the information written in your profile, it sounds like you may be interested in that, but I’m not sure how if that’s correct since you have pets (cats&dogs). You’d have a better idea of the local market pricing in Montreal in order to be competitive.

Hello, thank you very much! This is very helpful. Also, where could I market myself other than rover?

Only place they provide is craigslist. Of course they take out private info. for you. It costs money. Also people you know, in the Rover store online there are cards etc... Want to make your own. Do not put your private info. Put your name and sign up with your code and link on it when you book.

I say no private information, address phone number etc. because it is done through Rover. Also that they hide your number etc.. Look at the ones they sell to see what is on it for more of an idea. Cards and magnets I think they have.

Celine: If you search Marketing, this question has been answered previously. You can have business cards printed, hand to pet owners you meet when out, and leave (later check&refresh) at pet friendly places that allow, post on craigslist & any other social media channels.
