Charging for last minute bookings?

Hi fellow sitters! I've gotten quite a few inquiries lately that are super last minute. Owners will literally message me hours before they want me to come and walk their dogs without ever meeting me. Usually, I just decline these requests due to the fact that I have not met the owner or dog and am not comfortable with entering someone's home without meeting them first. Do you accept these requests and if so, do you tag on a "last minute booking fee"?

The only time I'd do a last minute booking would be boarding/daycare. And I do charge a last minute fee. Only because I really believe in the whole "cancellation policy" thing so I also have a "booking policy" thing as well. I normally do just $20-30 depending.

How do you add a last minute fee?

Thanks Calista! I just wanted to know if I was the only person that felt this way about last minute bookings!

I have specifically in my profile that I need at least three days notice with any new client if it is for boarding or housesitting. I will not usually accommodate for anything asked of me in less time unless I already know and have worked with this client before.
