New 5x/week walk client. Dog refuses to poop on walk. What would you do?

Talk to the owner again, emphasizing that walks are only 30 minutes. Since her dog isn't pooping on the walk portion, then suggest that you can divide up your time between the actual walk and time in the backyard. If that approach is still not working (i.e., the dog hasn't pooped), then discuss the 60 minute walk.

I would split the 30 minutes between the walk and letting the dog roam around the back yard. If the owner doesn't want to pay for a 60 minute walk, and the owner wants ONLY a walk for those 30 minutes, then I would be telling the owner that the dog might poop in the house and it's not your responsibility to clean it up.

When I have a new pup that won't poop I give a little massage on the backside towards the bum. Rub down just like you would pet them but a tad firm. It helps loosen them up a little. Then let them walk/run. Do it again. 85% of the time I can get them to go like that.

When I first got my chihuahua it took her a week to realize or feel safe pooping for me. I had to stay outside for at least 30 minutes for her to poop. She will not poop for anyone else but me, not even my kids. Some dogs are just like that.

Dogs can be finicky and they like to go in different spots. Try different routes each walk snd see. My dog likes bushes honestly. Try that too. Some dogs really like to roam to poop and it helps to have cover for them and the different route approach. If that’s not possible you’re gonna have to talk to the owner and see what their little quirks are. That’s a few tips I have for you though I hope they help.
