Can we, sitters, provide backup for each other if we have an emergency during boarding?

Hi Illinois Sitters who live in or near Naperville, IL.

Say, I am interested in getting to know you and vice versa. Would it be possible to build a network of BACK UP support among fellow sitters for unscheduled emergencies and the like while dog boarding? If you have an important matter to take care of and cannot leave your pups alone for an extended period, you could call me to see if I could jump in and cover you during this brief period and VICE VERSA. I would certainly pay you, the sitter, for covering for me. Are there other sitters out there that may need a backup and vice versa?

Example: You are in the middle of a boarding staycation. You get called for an emergency that might pull you away for 8 hours or overnight. Do you have a backup person that will watch your cherished pet you are boarding while you attend to business? If not, you/we would not be able to go. With a backup sitter, we can attend to business and know the pups are being cared for and are safe.

Any thoughts? I would LOVE to entertain working with you if your are interested?

Having a network of other sitters is crucial to keep your business operating when something arises. However, Rover doesn't support having backups with the bookings as they cannot be reassigned. We have a local Facebook pet sitter dog walker group and we all help out as we can https://www.facebook.com/groups/1075355…

This is just something we as pet boarders/sitters can and should cultivate on our own. Since I've been doing this for 3 years now, I have come know some other good sitters/boarders and thats the way I have a network for 'backup's. I recently had a husky dog that attacked my corgi during a stay and I had to immediately get that dog to a new boarder (obviously, I communicated this with the owners of the dog). Anyways, I actually knew a boarder with a husky and so he was able to take over the job.
