Are you insured/bonded? What do you recommend for a new sitter?

Hi,

I have started dog sitting and love it! I am thinking about getting some dog boarding coverage to protect me if something happens to a dog in my care or my own property. Do any of you have insurance you recommend?

It's a smart move to get your own insurance as the Rover Guarantee doesn't protect the sitter with liability coverage. And Rover states the sitter may have to pay for any vet bills.

There are 5 primary Pet Sitter liability insurance companies for US-based businesses. All of the insurance carriers are responsive and respected.

Rates start around $130 a year depending on the services you offer and how many people you are covering and your level of deductible.

Personally, I only offer walks and have been with Pet Care Insurance for many years. Best of luck and again a good decision.
